FBI Sends Investigators to Idaho After Sniper Kills Firefighters

The brush fire was believed to be set intentionally to target first responders.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel stated that members of his agency were sent to provide support to Idaho officials in the wake of the shooting of firefighters by a sniper on Sunday. Multiple reports state that a brush fire was intentionally set to lure first responders into an ambush. Two firefighters were killed and a third wounded on the mountain near Coeur d’Alene.

On Sunday, Idaho Governor Brad Little stated, “Multiple heroic firefighters were attacked today while responding to a fire in North Idaho. This is a heinous direct assault on our brave firefighters.” He added, “They answered the call to protect others and paid the ultimate price.“

The shooter’s body was found after the use of cell phone data by a tactical team during a massive manhunt.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the wounded firefighter to heal and recover from surgery after being shot by the sniper.
  • For God’s comfort for the families of the firefighters who lost their lives in the ambush.
  • For Director Patel as he oversees FBI assistance to the investigation in Idaho.
